PRAYER SUPPORT:  ‘SEVEN DAYS OF PRAYER’

I would like to share with you a Prayer Support Guide that I received from Chris DeWelt professor at Ozark Christian College.  Please consider using it as a guide as you pray for Jerry and I and our ministry! 

Sunday – Pray for their walk with the Lord – Their spiritual life – many suffer from incredible dryness because of the demands upon them.  They weep when we pray over them!!  They hunger for spiritual support! 

Monday - Pray for their physical and emotional health – Many places where they are serving are lacking in basic safety issues – traffic accidents all around – Their own emotional stability at times can be suffering – Do you care?

Tuesday – Pray for their families – helps if you know their names.  Many missionary families are very strong – and many have significant struggles. Pray for their marriages ( What?? Missionaries getting divorces?? Yes – this happens) – Pray for their children!! Jerrod, Amber, Alyssia, Derrick, Craig, and Travis

Wednesday – Pray for their ability to communicate – Fundamental to what they do is their ability with language and with the “ways” of culture for effective communication!

Thursday – Pray for their ministry – Pray for what they are doing! How are you going to know what they are doing?? Guess what!! You have to find out!! You have to read their newsletters! You have to stay informed! – Let me tell you – it means an incredible lot when you show even the slightest knowledge of their work when they see you!  Most people don’t have a clue as to what they are doing!

Friday – Pray for their fellow workers – One of the big reasons that missionaries quit is due to problems with coworkers!  So pray for their teams!  Pray for the places you might know where there are problems!  Pray for the national workers.  Learn their names – You will meet them soon in heaven.

Saturday – Pray for their country of service – Become internationally aware of what is going on.  Most people don’t even know where the country is. Are they in jeopardy?  How will you know?

Jesus asks “Could you not pray with me for one hour??”
